Skinny Block Assignment: Create a Vocab Poster. Fold a piece of paper into four sections.
Section One: The Prefix/Root/Suffix that you chose.
Section Two: The definition of your Prefix/Root/Suffix
Section Three: An example word of your Prefix/Root/Suffix used in a sentence.
Section Four: A picture that demonstrates the Vocab Word.
Due at the end of class.

This year, all summative writing assignments must be turned in through TurnItIn.com. We will go over instructions for you to add yourselves to your class block during the first week of school.

This year the English department only has one set of laptops for us all to share. Whenever it is possible for you, please try to bring your own laptop, tablet, or phone so that you can participate in lessons that involve technology when we do not have access to the school provided laptops.

Romeo and Juliet Socratic Seminar Info (Quarter Four)

Essential Questions:
1.) What is love?
2.) Is violence ever justified?
3.) Do you believe in fate, or can people make their own destiny?
4.) Is a loving relationship worth more than family?

If you will be present for the Socratic Seminar, you need to prepare by:
- Bringing old notes and worksheets.
- Writing new notes that help you answer the Essential Questions.
- Printing part of the text and marking it up.
- Bringing your device.
- Being prepared to say quotes directly from the text.
- Speaking at least three times.

If you are absent on the day of the Socratic Seminar. You only have until (6/8) to turn in your written version. The written version must include:
- 1 to 2 paragraph response to each question.
- Direct quotes from the play that you use to support your answer to each question.
